Righteous judgment, the world's favorite excuse, and the job Jesus actually gave us.
We have become incredibly comfortable lying on God when it suits our selfish desires. The world can barely bear to hear the name, yet you can always count a tattoo of their favorite rebuttal against accountability that says “only God can judge me”. If they knew the truth, they wouldn’t really want Him to after dying in their sin. Truth is, God DEFINITELY instructed His disciples to judge RIGHTEOUSLY, & it’s in red (Jesus’s own mouth):
Judging righteously means to call people out of darkness into His marvelous light, as Jesus did & as Jesus instructed us to do also. Judging righteously means to speak to people in love remembering that we all fall short of the glory of God. The Lord does not care what the person looks like, He cares ABOVE ALL that they hear the Gospel of Jesus. He told us to seek & save the lost, so how can you know that a person is lost without righteous judgement?
Jesus did not leave people the way He found them, nor did He tell them to continue on in their ways, nor did He make them comfortable in their sin. Jesus ALWAYS said to go & sin no more, NOT “keep doin’ you”.
“Go & sin no more” does not mean perfection follows salvation, it means that our salvation was perfected on the cross & solidified in the resurrection of Jesus Christ so that ALL the sins of the world were overcome by God choosing to come down in the feeble flesh of man, to be tortured & murdered for our sakes in assisting us in becoming more than conquerors.
In & of ourselves we can do absolutely NOTHING, yet we overcome our sin & our past simply by the word of our testimonies. Why in the world would we not want that for every living human being?
I pray that artists & influencers who claim Jesus, who then get to experience some success, who then get invited into deeply, worldly spaces that ridicule & detest our Lord & Christianity…that we remember that the Bible warns that the devil comes as an angel of light.
That even the more, we remember that light has no fellowship with the dark, that they hated Jesus so they’re going to hate us too. That we be so zealous about our faith in Jesus that we NEVER tell an ungodly spirit it ain’t gotta be worried. So if we’re welcomed by the world, it’s highly likely we ain’t carrying the cross of Christ.
Our gifts were bestowed upon us to worship Him & to proclaim the glory of His name in the earth; not to act like every knee won’t bow & confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the extent that we allow people to disrespect the Holy Spirit in us.
We should never act like our God is not all powerful & omniscient & omnipresent AT ALL TIMES. We should never act like God is not King of kings & Lord of lords, like He is sovereign & rules over every living creature crawling, walking & swimming in this earth. We should never act like He does not have ALL dominion in the palm of His hand, carnal & spiritual.
Demons tremble at the sound of His name for a reason, because they know better & there’s nothing they can do about it. PRAISE THE LORD, GOD, ALMIGHTY.
Our job is definitely to seek & save the lost, judging righteously. It’s absolutely our job to proclaim that Jesus Christ is Lord in the face of darkness & confusion. It’s unequivocally our job to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is THE hill of the disciple.
